About Us
Dovetail Drafting Services commenced trading on the 1st July 1998. Like most small businesses, we started from a small home office, before moving to professional premises in Malaga in 1999.
Since October 2006, Dovetail has operated from their new premises in the Joondalup CBD. Our office is currently home to a team of draftspeople and we have our own office administrations.
Dovetail Specialises in two major disciplines of Drafting; Architectural and Structural. We offer complete packages when it comes to Development Applications (DA) and Building License Applications by providing the client with Full Working Drawings which include Architectural Drawings, Structural Detail Drawings, Specifications, and Energy Accreditation. We offer clients the additional external services of having our drawings Certified by a Structural Engineer, Assessed by an Accredited Energy Assessor, Site Survey, and Estimation/ Quantity Surveying services.
Our staff are highly computer literate, and all drawings are produced on AutoCAD with millimetre accuracy. Senior staff run rigorous checklists on all drawings and oversee the production of each drawing. Mediocrity, such as “drawing lines because it looks right” is not acceptable. Our draftspeople draw the exact specified component of the building, or not at all.
We are a self-contained design office, and we produce drawings on any size (in house) from A4 through to A1. Drawings can also be laminated to ensure their longevity, especially on site in wet conditions. Drawings can be electronically issued via PDF for immediate delivery anywhere in the world.
